Messing around with one of my custom styles

@Goomba: The colors are very dark and boring, in Mario games you always get the impression that everything is bouncy and bright. I'm also having trouble finding the destination of the light source, and the head is jaggy in a few places.
@water: Very bland and empty, not much going on except for the weird shading on the surface.
