And Davy, I simply removed the black part from the images until I had an outline I was happy with. Basically a custom outline like for any old game that has sprites and images using transparency as a "color" to draw the item (See Final Fantasy 1-3 NES, and Metroid 1-2 for examples [icons are the same way]). So sadly, they are naturally black on black background because they are technically a part of the background.
