To my surprise and in contrast to the YT video I've seen, he encountered me on the Lava Bridge. So... how did you access this stage?

Maybe helpful for Ant, if he decides to give Killer Instinct another shot. This quicksave has a dizzy Eyedol, hit one button and you see his death sequence (he has extra sprites for the lava bath): http://minus.com/luVgnQqhagpb5
The endings for each character can be achieved per cheat.
