Tighter gun laws are definitely something that needs doing in the US. There are no shops that allow you to just walk in and buy a gun here in the UK without some sort of specialist licence. There are far fewer incidents of this nature as well, though you could argue that this is because we have a population many times smaller.

The UK has actually experienced more gun crime since guns started being restricted/banned, and never had the same proportionate amount of gun-related crimes as the US anyway.

Now, look at Switzerland. Loads of people there have guns, yet gun crime is incredibly rare.
Guns aren't to blame for gun-related crime. Violent people, stupid people and wannabe "gangstas" are.
