Toldja I'd do it. All the frames were as individual files, luckily TheShyGuy whipped up a program for me that can mass-convert them though, so I didn't have to do it one-by-one.
Problem is that GIFs can't have anti-aliasing, as in true semi-transparent pixels, the best it can do is make semi-transparent pixels into a blend against a certain background. I chose the colour for the background of avatars here, so it looks anti-aliased, but it isn't truly so. If you were to download the image and view it against a different background, you'd see that the edges are jaggy.
