Hey wanna see what sparked my interest in spriting?
This shit:
http://www.videogamedc.krahs.com/mainsite/
http://cnn.captainn.net/index.html
I was like "Wow look how useful these sprite things are! They can be used to make easy comics, funny videos, even games!"
Originally I started making crappy comics but I wasn't happy with how they looked. A lot of the sprites were mismatched and I couldn't find the certain sprites I needed. Joining the Captain N forums (where I met Bacon) I learned that if people didn't have the sprites they needed, they would make their own... "WHOA! MAKE your own sprites?"
So I did! My comics started to look better and I actually had fun making my own sprites. When I saw there were people who submitted their work to Ninsprites I was very eager to do the same. I made an Ice Climber sheet. It was accepted and you know what happened?
Someone used them! They used them in a crappy comic... but I was happy.
