I'm not familiar with the style or source sprites at all, but these look pretty nice. Although, I'd also like to see some custom spritework to get a better feel for your spriting skill without the crutch of editing a sprite.
one thing that stands out to me as odd is how the second sprite is much lighter and desaturated than all of the other sprites. Part of spriting within a style, or even creating a new style, is consistency; I haven't seen it mentioned a lot while I lurk the boards, but I think it's equally as important as readability and solid drawing when it comes to both spriting and drawing/painting.
Welcome to TSR, by the way, it can be a tad hard to fit in at first, but just so long as you're willing to try making 100% custom spritework, you'll do alright.
