I'm sadden by this news, but it's to be expected. With the internet, who needs gaming news magazines anymore? I've had two subscription stents with Nintendo Power over my lifetime, but I stopped subscribing to Nintendo Power all together when Future transitioned Nintendo Power to be a strictly gaming news magazine.
I would have gladly kept my subscription going to the end if they had kept gaming strategies in the mix in addition to the game news. Before the internet came nationwide, early Nintendo Powers were like mini-player's guides showing you stuff from every game and showing you some tips and tricks to help your gaming out. Sometimes some issues of NP came with little bonuses like preview VHS tapes.
I still have the tapes of Donkey Kong Country, Nintendo 64, Star Fox 64, and Diddy Kong Racing (N64). I need to copy those to DVD format sometime.
