I'm sure you couldn't use that same analogy with Super Mario Bros. could you?
People care about it (but no where near as much as the SMB series) but well, it would be like making fun of those little Jumping Ninja-Thingies in SMB 2 every issue. Making fun of a series that old, EVERY issue, just doesn't seem possible. And, as I said, I thought you meant those 3 games and not the DKC Universe.
But still I have to agree with [scrolls up] Money Man, that hating a magazine for poking fun at something you like seems incredibly silly. I love Metal Slug (to the point of spending £80+ on a damn Fio model) but if a magazine poked fun at it or said something I disagreed with (aka free-lance writer for Retro Gamer who said Metal Slug 3 was the worse one in the series) I'd think it was a big of dick thing to say (and if it REALLY annoyed me complain on the forum/write a letter to them) but I wouldn't hate them for it. Hate implies that if the person said it while sitting next to you you'd punch them/shout at them until they cried. And well if you would do that then don't ever get into debates or anything.

yup, it's divided at Ocarina of Time's climax:
timeline 1: ganon takes over (link to the past, wind waker)
ganon kills the hero of time (as an adult), and slowly destroys the land of hyrule.
timeline 2: ganon exposed (majora's mask)
link returns to his child form and tells the king that ganondorf will betray him, thus preventing events from getting out of hand.
timeline 3: ganon dies (twilight princess)
link (as an adult) slays ganon and stays as an adult.
it gets confusing, but makes sense if you... actually, never mind.
Wasn't A Link to the Past made before Ocarina of Time?
Also in that case I'd better finish OoT, maybe I can make some sense of this then. Although I still don't know where the GBC games (the Oracles and Link's Awakening) and the Minish Cap come into this.
There's a translated time-line from the book on-line if you want to look at it. It still doesn't make sense and there is NO WAY Nintendo had this planned from the start.
