This is literally a five minute custom goomba sprite. I used MS paint to make it, just now.
It isn't the greatest sprite, but it is set far apart from yours for several reasons..
The most noticeable would be that it isn't a "drawing," it is a "Sprite." Sprites use pixels,
and every pixel must be placed with care, so that they are used to their full potential.
Your, well, drawing, it isn't a sprite. It lacks very basic form. If you hadn't told me it was
a crying goomba, I don't think that I would have figured out what it was. You should use
reference images so that you have the basic form in mind before spriting it.
Sorry if I seem like a jerk. I don't mean to put my stuff in your thread, but i thought that
a visual might help.
thats ok,yours are best!

Go to the main website.
Go to custom sprites.
Go to Sonic.
Look for every Sonic SMK edit/custom made.
I made that, without a fancy little graphics tablet.
You... are kinda missing the point here. For spriting, a mouse will do quite fine. I used a mouse making these sprites, but don't expect they were done in a mere minute or so. Time varies between 4 to 8 hours of work (or in Mammoth Mogul's case, 3 friggin' days!). Aside from the time spent, I also have years of spriting experience under my belt.
Don't use your lack of experience as an excuse to only make 20-seconds-circle-tool art. Study. Practice a lot, that also includes drawing. Sounds stupid? It's not! If you can't draw, you can't sprite. Don't get it the wrong way; it's not drawing lines with a mouse, but rather dotting them, one or few pixels at a time. So why draw? To get a better understanding of how shapes work. May sound confusing at first, but it'll make sense as you practice. Again, it took me years to reach the level I'm at now.
cool.
