As a side not, some games may not have the sounds in a SDAT, although as Previous said most of them do. Also, along with SWAV, SWAR and STRM files may also contain the sounds you're looking for.
If you want to rip a lot of sounds, you can extract (not export) the folder containing them using Tinke, and convert the whole bunch using VGSC.
