I love the idea and the sprites; my only concern is that it might be out of style due to the proportions. I mean, it works for Torch since he's distinctly non-human, but Sunlight looks like he has a MASSIVE head in comparison to everyone else.
Also the design totally reminds me of Robotnik. Especially the hurt sprite.

Still working on my assist thing. It probably needs a lot of work, I'm not sure if the animation is too smooth or not smooth enough or what. I also have little to no experience with motion blur, so this'll be interesting considering my plans for the rest of it.
