Hello again, tSR, long time no see.
Got a little out of touch with any type of spriting skill I may or may not have had. Since I have documented the movement mechanics behind Zelda II Adventure of Link, I figured I could update his side-scrolling sprite.
I came up with this animation:
His arm, hand, and sword seem a touch off. Can't quite place my finger on it.
You may be saying, "Why edits?"...
If you remember, I ripped Ken from SF 2010. My good friend came up with the awesome version of him on the right after I enlarged Ken 2x and cleaned up the lines years ago.
Now, I tried to match the style on a frame of Ken teleporting into the level...

It looks like shit to me, so I figured I would try out something a little bit easier. On the Link animation, I used a custom palette pulled from the 9-bit color display image floating on wikipedia. Other than that, you wouldn't believe how hard the legs were considering there are only 3 original frames and the legs are very ambiguous looking in-game.
Any suggestions on where to improve?
