Combat is kind of a bummer, the parry never ever works, like no matter how I time it, it never succeeds and it's fucking frustrating.

i'll tell you right now its because you're doing it incorrectly
parrying works 90% of the time for me and when it doesn't its because i personally screwed up

and its not as if the combat at all requires or needs parrying, its something for you to do if you're comfortable with it and you want to push the waters/test the limits

I don't get why Skyrim has such bad character design and enemy design and this doesn't, I mean the enemies I'm facing are rather bland, storytelling is admittedly better, but that's about all it's got going for it over Skyrim for me right now.

and why bother comparing it to skyrim, the two are fundamentally different
