I think if there is going to be a new Mario rep, it's Toad.
He's in your NSMBWii, he's in your NSMBU, he's everywhere in Sticker Star. Plus Super Mario Bros. 2.
I know Toad is Peach's Neutral B, but Toad as a playable character is almost inevitable. I can imagine him being a clone of Mario and Luigi too (perhaps shooting ice-balls instead of fire?).
I do demand the Penguin Suit to be one of his alternative outfits, if he is in. No doubt Blue Toad and Yellow Toad will be (and Green Toad, considering team colors (hey, Wario's Woods P2!)).
