Well actually you might not have to worry too much, I don't see many people making hacks/fan games of the M&L series(not sure about sprite comics).

You'd be surprised. Unfortunately, content is still stolen and reposted without permission on both MFGG and deviantART, for example.

Also question for the mods is it possible to make threads accessible to members or people you know only????

It's a nice idea, but anyone can register an account on a forum. Also, I wouldn't want to be the exception to the point that staff would essentially have to babysit my threads.

You can always watermark the sprites.

Also yes, you can make the GameDev thread without a demo, though if you could use mockups to demonstrate gameplay that'd be great

Awesome, thanks! Mockups are something I'd like to see for myself, if not just to hold myself over until the game is a thing, so I'll definitely be making some when I'm able.
