I mean how long has everyone been expecting this step up? It kind of seems natural for pokemon to take this step on the 3DS (even though it could have been done on the DS but who am I to say? The DS was pretty much nintendo's N64 for handhelds where as the 3DS is the gamecube of handhelds, and as I remember there weren't a whole lot of 3D games on the N64 ether.)
Moving from 2D to 3D has been a shark jumping move with certain franchises.
Some games tried it, but went back to 2D. Even a few companies ended up killing a series after the 3D game flops. (critically and/or commercially)
This often happened during the late 90's and through the 2000's
I'll tell you what though. A sprite project might show up once they finish revealing every new Pokemon.
My thoughts on the new starters.
- Chespin: Its refreshing to see a grass starter that's not based on a reptile or dinosaur. A hedgehog? I thought it was a chipmunk.
- Fennekin: They're trying too hard with the cuteness. then again, Fennec foxes are considered cute by some people.
- Froakie: Has an amusing design, similar to cartoon frogs back in the old times. That's what i like about it.
Glad they're doing a worldwide release. Sick of games getting delayed or never released in Australia.
It's much worse when it comes to downloadable games. Especially on a Nintendo console.
