I think android is so popular because the fan-base can't admit iOS is better and thus make a lot of noise.

Yeah, having native support for... one button only and being locked into apple's closed ecosystem if you don't jailbreak are certainly better. Having a device that gives you no actual control over said device is great.

Android is completely open.
