I find the Harry Potter films are very bad at establishing important characters. Maybe I'm just not that interested in the story but I end up having to re-watch the old films after seeing the later ones in order to remember who the hell people are.
As for me, Robocop and Robocop 2.
You know, Robocop 2 has such a strong idea about what is human and his relationship with his wife and all that - and then drops is for a crappy "Here's a bad 'improved' Robocop 2" kind of story. I have little faith in the Robocop remake, but I think if they take on board some ideas from Robocop 2 for the potential sequel to the new Robocop they could have something.
