And it's time for some new stuff. But first, a disclaimer.
*Activates the computerized stereo. "Like a dream come true"* plays in the background.*
1. First up, RandomRebelSoldier is the one who ripped all of this. All I did was assemble everything and organize the sprites in a sheet.
2. Second, none of these probably have the right palette. I scoured around for a good placeholder in that department, until we can find the proper palettes.
With that said, here's the IDs.
*Presses a button on the stereo. "BIOTOXIC"** now plays in the background.*
Smasher [Metal Slug 6]
<-- Crunch time. That's all I've got.
And here's the first of the batch. These red thingamajuggers appear in the final mission, and attack by doing the following: Jump, spin their legs like a copter, hover above your head and inflate their belly. After that, THWOMP!! Bloody pulps as far as the eye can see.
On the plus side, you can exploit them for massive point bonuses. Trust me on this.
Walking Locomotive [Metal Slug 6]
<-- Whoever concepted this thing should get a raise. Just sayin'.
Found at the halfway point of Mission 1, and I effin' love it. Seriously, a train with legs. Can't get any more awesome than that.
Anyway, this is basically an updated version of another rip over at the Database. Here's the scoop on it, copy-pastaed from the source.
Not the most orthodox method, but hey, gotta do with whatever you can.
Other than the palette, the only thing I've pinced from TMS' rip is the platform under one of the carriages. Mainly because those sprites are actually different from the platform sprites in the other games, and the batch of tiles I had didn't have it.
*From "Persona 4". Can't go wrong with jazz, yo~.
**The second Boss BGM from "Metal Slug 6". People say the soundtrack doesn't fit the series. Maybe so, but is it bad because of it?

Me, over at MSDB Wrote:So what happened here is, I tried looking for a good placeholder palette, but couldn't find anything good enough. So I just pinced the palette from TMS' own rip, opened it up in Graphics Gale and adjusted its brightness a bit. After that, contrast all up in that beach.
Also a bit of saturation for good measure. Can't guarantee if this method works with other MS6 rips that use palettes from in-game screenshots, but other tests look mildly promising.
