I know that I said that I stepped down a year and 5 months ago but life is an unpredictable creature with things not happening your way, bad things and even a couple of good things. With life going to pot (let's just say its hard to talk when most people on other forums/online are huge anime/RPG fans with sprinkles of Steam or hardcore FPS shooters or sports/music fans or even transport fans and when you're not really into them things...), I thought I go back and do a rip just for old time sake. Will there be more rips in the future? I don't even know myself. I did experiment regarding textures for PS1 games and forgot all about it but for now, stick to what I know. Oh and thank you very much to all people past and present.
Untitled Fighter 'BB' (Arcade)
Fighters
I haven't done this in a while but might as well explain. Looking though MAME and I found this game. Well it isn't much of a game but it has sprites in it and the origins are unknown. Is it a bootleg? Is it some sort of sprite test? A very early prototype of a released or unreleased game? Who knows, it doesn't even have a name of this game (I called it what MAME called it). Oh and apart from 1 character, none of the fighters have names so it is more of a descriptive route plus there's lots of unused sprites but they have no palettes.
Some people think it is a prototype for Martial Champion but I'm not as convinced. From what we know, a bootlegger might have ripped the fonts from that game like Mug Smashers ripped the fonts from The Combatribes and it was a practice that some seedy companies did. Besides Konami wouldn't have made a game that ugly and its not even their animation style, plus Martial Champion has big and beefy sprites filling the screen, something this "game" doesn't have (its about Fatal Fury size).
Still a bit rusty in terms of ripping though and the new set up is a bit different than I used to.
Oh and before anyone asks, I looked up the rules regarding bumping an old thread and yes, over a year old is a bit bad but Rule 1.3 says making 1 thread regarding submissions would be nice and besides I think it is better than making a new thread then a mod or admin merges the thread with this one unless it causes problems with the forums. If I did the wrong thing, I'm sorry...
