I agree with orgasmatron. The true reason of religion is to give people peace of mind, a god to rely on when shit happens: it has a great power in our minds because it kind of prepares you to psychological shocks and stuff. The god I'm talking about doesn't necessarily be the christian god: anything can be used for this effect. Heck, you could even say that unicorns help you mentally.
This because the basis never changes, despite there being so many different religions. This being said, it is never good to force things such as these to others, PRINCIPALLY when our emotionals are shaken up with tragedies like those, imo. It doesn't matter if you believe in a robed bearded man or some supernatural man with a jackal head, or if you don't believe in anything at all: having empathy to the ones lost in this happening and also to the viewers is the main point.
This sickened me a lot when I saw on TV, I hope the responsible for this is punished. I don't have relatives or anything in boston, but a loss of people, mainly in such an idiotic action like this, really saddens me.
