Sprint 2 (Arcade)
In today's episode of Yawackhary's Believe it or Not, I look at one of the first sprite rippable games Sprint 2 that itself is a sequel to Gran Trak 10 the first game to use ROMs [but can't be ripped] and more known by younger people (including myself) by its later sequels Super Sprint and Championship Sprint, both that are in various Midway collections. While looking at Gun Fight, the first ever rippable game that is possible, it turned out not to have a tile viewer but also TileMolester doesn't seem to display anything clearly enough even though you can see mangled text. So Sprint 2 would have to do that itself is the first rippable Atari game. Due to MAME standards it is classed as a clone to Sprint One that irony not only came out later but is a hack of this game [so Sprint One should be the clone] to remove the 2 player support.
Also fact time, the programmer Dennis Koble later worked on PGA Tour Golf series, the Genesis port of RoadBlasters and Sonic Spinball. Sonic Spinball? Yep.
Sprint 4 (Arcade)
The sequel now in colour but strangely enough released after Sprint 8 so yeah you have Sprint 2, Sprint 8, Sprint 4 and then Sprint One. It is to tell how many maximum players are allowed but personally Sprint One shouldn't be made since it is disappointing compared to this one. Before anyone asks, yes the 7 is faulty on one side and that's how it is. There is another version on MAME but I think it isn't dumped properly since the cars don't look right. First game to have unused sprites I wonder?
Now these games have gone back to storage and the only reason why they are ripped are due to its historic nature and that they are easy to do.
