I beat Castlevania LoS: Mirror of Fate today.
...It could have been better. Holy hell, it could have been so much better. Usually when I play through new Castlevania games I feel happy but Mirror of Fate has left me feeling somewhat empty inside, not completely unlike how I felt after finishing Metroid Other M, only that was worse because, well, you know, it was Other M. As with Other M, there were a few aspects of Mirror of Fate which I liked but they were drowned out by everything else. As much as I wanted to like the game I constantly found myself comparing it to the best of the series' games like I do with everything else, and next to SCV4 and SoTN, Mirror of Fate just doesn't cut it at all.
In fact, I think I'll play some Super Castlevania 4 right now.
Edit: And now, I feel much better. Thank you, Super Castlevania 4.
