I have mixed feelings about this. It could go either way.
This is not the first time a new form of evolution was introduced. Gen 2 introduced breeding and baby Pokémon. I think Mega Pokémon can set X & Y apart from the other main titles. Aside from trading methods and visuals, there wasn't much since Gen 2 that was outstanding. Love it or hate it, Mega Evolution has the potential to really add.
That said, like I said, mixed feelings. I am excited for the potential, but it feels a bit fan-made. I do like MegaMawile, because Mawile deserves to be more useful that it is. Surprised by its Fairy-typing though, yet makes sense, I guess.
