Hmm, mine is just loading a garbled mess. I guess I need a certain ROM.
EDIT: Got it!
EDIT 2: Looks like Melchior is the placeholder NPC. He has a lot of entries here. He also has an unused palette. It looks like a lot of the effects (Telepod's lightning, water, wind, and fire, Tubset's "swril", etc) are also stored as NPC sprites. Gonna keep looking.
EDIT 3: Imps and Rolies have the same tileset, which explains the "Roly Rider" enemy. That also means there are tons of unused palettes. Gnasher, Naga-ette, and Ruminator also share palettes, so there are a lot of unused ones there as well. Interestingly, Mammon Machine and Panel don't have sprites stored in the game at all and are just background objects.
EDIT 4: The Man-Eating Plants share tiles with Imps and Octopuses. Same deal with palettes. See above. This explains Octo Rider, but it also reveals that all of the new Imp enemies in the DS version of the game aren't new at all. Their palettes existed in the SNES ROM all this time.
