I'm meh on Shadow Peach. I would have liked Sporty Peach in the Track Suit and ponytail more. But Mr. L is just amazing.

The important question is "When can we host these models?"

We couldn't use Sporty Peach since she doesn't have a dress. She actually uses her dress to attack in some moves (like her down smash) and some animations are made with her dress in mind (when she runs, she holds it up for example) so removing it wouldn't be the best idea. In the end, Shadow Queen seemed like a cool alt that still worked with her hitboxes. Plus, it matches with Mr. L and Dry Bowser.
