Simple. Don't use GIMP. It's not useful at spriting at all, as it works best as a Photoshop-esque program.

Stick with Paint. It's simpler and much more effective.

could you give me a download link for it?

microsoft paint should be automatically installed on your computer, assuming you have a PC and not a mac
