Okay, well first of all, just show us your tile-set, there is a lot of space here that is occupying nothing.
Now, about your tiles here, it's obvious that you based them off from the Mario series, good way to begin. I would like to see the color palette to be able to see what colors you are basing off your work. One thing that does bother me are the brick block, their shining animation stands off because of the shining effect, it is not really subtle at all, might want to make the shine effect less bright. Also, the mushrooms seem a bit diagonal, round them up a bit like the mushrooms in the game.
