I know that most of the Star Fox levels generally consist of "Run around on top of this ship", but at least it's updated and actually the Great Fox this time.
You know it never really occurred to me just how actually impossible that is until right now. Like, any Star Fox stage you play on, there's no gravitational pull in space to keep the fighters on the ship. The only one that makes sense is the Corneria stage in Melee and Brawl (assuming laws of gravity work are analogous to Corneria as they are on Earth)
Let's not even think about jumping in those space stages. Jumping around a spaceship with no gravitational pull traveling at thousands of miles per hour...?
here's the problem:
Imagine Slippy, OK? They're flying through Sector Y and - it's probably proofed to prevent this from happening, but in theory a HUGE asteroid shower happens and pelts a pilot's windscreen until it shatters.
If the Lylat system's outer space is a vacuum (like our Solar system), all the oxygen would be sucked out of the cockpit at an alarming rate and if Slippy was an idiot and forgot to buckle up (JUST AN EXAMPLE!!) he'd probably be ripped out of the cockpit, fly into space, and his internal fluids would boil and he'd die in about 30 seconds.
spoilers: every smash fighter is wearing magnets and the ship itself is magnetic. fox with his bionic legs has more magnets. that's why he falls like a sack of potatoes in melee
i knew it
Every Smash Bros. character is a trophy figurine/doll in a child's collection, and every match in classic mode is fantasy play: as in, none of this is actually happening, that's why there's crossovers in universes and that's why sometimes you're fighting on the back of a ship in space where there's no oxygen or gravitational pull (because hell, a child doesn't think about SCIENCE) When the child runs out of figurines for your character to fight, the child's at his wit's end: there's nothing else for you to fight and he can't think of any better backdrops, so you're "transported" to Final Destination and must fight his only remaining imaginitive plaything: his right hand. That's why at the end of every classic mode playthrough, your character's seen returning to the toy collection: you did it. You beat the kid's right hand so hard that you bored the poor child.
Crazy Hand is the left hand and at that point the kid's flat out using his imagination because how in the heck did someone realistically let your figurine go unchecked for that long
Tabuu though?
fuck tabuu
Starfox itself is full of gravity diffusing nonsense to the point where their Arwings are equipped with enough technology to travel between BLACK HOLES.
I'm sure they have a gravity field around the ship or something :V
