let's talk about music.
i've talked with gors a bit recently, and the basic summary is that he doesn't want to have any future effect on the project, so all of his previous assets (sprites, music, game concepts, story, etc?) are ours to use as we wish. or, y'know, the project leaders' to use as they wish, if we have project leaders. i guess we do? anyway, the samples that he previously used aren't "lost," but he doesn't have them, and i'm not interested in going out to try to compile them again.
i'm willing to attempt to do whatever music tracks are necessary for the game's full soundtrack, whether this means covering existing music or writing new compositions. yesterday, i downloaded a large pack of instrument samples from various capcom arcade games and redid crappy's theme using them. this CPS2/QSound style is what i would use for future songs, as well as for covers of the songs gors already made so the soundtrack has a consistent sound.
i encourage anyone on the forums who's a character in the project to try writing their own character theme, either doing so and sending it to me to revamp with the samples linked above or using the samples from the get-go. the CPS2/QSound instruments will give the soundtrack an overall cohesive feel, but having multiple composers and arrangers will bring a nice variety of styles to the mix. so, if anybody has any input...
