Well people have been arguing that because the All-Star Mode has been shown with a "locked" icon on it, then all the characters cannot possibly be unlocked in the ESRB video.
I really like that theory, but there is a small issue with it; we don't know if all the video footage was taken in one sitting. For all we know it's a highlights reel made up of clips in the game at various states in its playcycle. So while it's a plausible theory, it's not one hundred percent certain.
Plus if I'm not mistaken, don't you traditionally have to beat Classic Mode with each character to unlock All-Star Mode? Not just unlock them all? I could just be remembering wrong.
Although let's be fair; Nintendo was probably expecting something like this to happen with the ESRB footage just due to it no longer being in their own secure hands. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they held something back.
