I'll be honest; I'd never even heard of Compton until you brought it up yesterday so the amount of people having your specific issue is relatively miniscule when compared to the wider userbase, even when just compared to the small percentage of users that are on Linux. Considering that you have a workaround for it (just not use the addon for a while or try a different browser), the chances of anything being done about the issue is basically zero. There's no point in spending the time/energy in trying to fix a bug that we didn't cause and that (at least from what we've seen so far) only one person out of the thousands of users we get every day has experienced, particularly when you have ways of avoiding that bug.
