Like I've said before, I don't think giving a character an alt from another series would work.

I was thinking the other night because I personally try to adhere to this rule as well (Hitmonchan has now [in head-canon] evolved to being a Mac clone that isn't useless in the air but is generally weaker) how would you handle Mario characters? For example, if Kamek were to become a fighter and represented Yoshi's Island as a franchise, would it be okay for him to have Kammy as an alt. even though she hasn't set foot in a Yoshi game? Would it be acceptable for Kammy to have an icon-swap to the Mushroom emblem?
