On the random guy, you have a few colors that are still too similar. They are the two brightest yellows, and the two brightest blues (the glare isn't noticeable, neither is the shadow on the right hand).
Also, you should pay attention to what parts of the body are shadowed by other parts. If you have a light source directly above, and the character is leaning forward, then his entire front chest and part of his legs should be shadowed.
