Well, by that logic, if someone strips naked in the center of the mall, anyone not expecting it and coming upon it from around the corner is at fault for "partaking" in it.
Don't get me wrong, there's a big difference between broadcast television and actually being somewhere in a mall, but where the similarities lie is that it is more or less intended for public consumption. The idea is that you want to avoid controversial incidents by censoring what you know is going to cause problems.
Lastly, out of what I usually end up watching for entertainment purposes, censorship really doesn't come into play that much. I don't really understand what it is that you are mentioning being censored that is so strange, and I can't really get behind your stance about it simply because it doesn't effect me in any way.
