The way they look. The sprite work looks utterly terrible, especially considering the effort that went into matching the other new elements into every other style.

Actually gotta agree here: a lot of them look halfassed. They're as tacky as like the Megaman 8-bit sprites that fans make that don't deviate all that much from the base ):

I will admit though that I really, really like the Inkling Squid sprite...it's just so dopey
