I really don't want this to happen.
What I WOULD be cool with is if every copy of the game came packaged with a Namco Banapassport card so you could put your fight data on it so you could just being the card to a friend's house (or a Dave & Buster's restaurant with Pokken, because that'll be a thing, too), download data to it after you're done, come home and unload the points you made out with friends into your game to buy mountains of stupid costume gear for your Pokemon.
Like, sure you could just write the information onto an amiibo figure, but I'd rather use the arcade cards ):
tl;dr YES I see a Pokken "amiibo series" but I'm imagining it to be literally the Banapassport cards that bear no discernible impact on which one you get, because they all serve the same purpose: recording your fight history and point accumulation
Honestly doing both would be the most lucrative. Pokke Fighting TOurnament Master Trainer Cards Collect points like capcom Tour gain entry to tournament beat local area fly out to big event (Kids are brought with their parents.) Tropy is little cup with Special Edition Pokken Amiibo as the prize possibly other cool swag.
I think you might need some sleep Giraffe. That post didn't read quite so clearly...
but I think the trophy would probably be best as an actual trophy and not an amiibo. :/
It might be cool because now the Pokemon championships will have THREE games from now on: The card game, the traditional battler, and Pokken. ;P

I'm not sure if that's actually plausible or not. Are the Amiibo cards the same thickness and material as a normal playing card?
I haven't actually seen one, but I think it's just very slightly thicker so they can sandwich the NFC tag in them.
