Actually, it is possible to make M&L into a sidescroller. You just need to have the right person to convert it into that. It's easy.

In this game they did. And the M&L looks just fine. But ours will be so much better looking, + storyline.

No...not really. They didn't do too good of a job. The background doesn't even fit M&L and the angle is off on everything. Notice how the goombas aren't walking in the same direction as the ground.
