I used to do something similar, but I went with a scrying mirror for the extra performance.
(I know, I know, they're way more expensive and not as portable, not to mention the lack of USB enchantments, I've heard it all before)

Unfortunately it was only 32 bit so I had to replace it a couple of years ago.
