I'm sorry if I'm derailing, but color me absolutely fucking impressed as I have so many questions here, the first being "Why did you have a NeoGeo Pocket Color of all handhelds" and secondly "Where on earth did you even buy the games"
The others basically are similar but go more into how old you were at the time etc. y'know, more personal details etc. because like
I'm pretty sure out of all of us on the Resource, you're like, one of two people who own a Neogeo Pocket Color. I'm CONSIDERING getting one but there's a big keyword here: CONSIDERING. I don't even have it yet lmao, it's not in my possession and I um, also have to actually find one first.
I dunno, to be honest. Well, my family was never hip with new technology until very recently, so I grew up with video games in a way that probably only 0.00000001% of the earth's population did as well.
I got a NGPC from "Santa" for Xmas 2004 along with one of those bootleg packs of game cartridges. 2004 being the year I was nine years old and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and social anxiety - for a couple years, my NGPC was basically my prescription drug (though I have been actually treated, lol). If I ever found myself having a spaz attack, I'd just lay down somewhere in the house and play it.
I had it for about three years, then lost it in the middle of moving overseas (UK to America). I definitely had some fun times with it, especially because I had grown up with 8-bit games unlike 99.9999% of other people of my generation who had SNES, N64, Genesis, Xbox, etc.
Would I recommend it for this day in age? Maybe. I guess if you enjoy playing games alone, which I do all the time.
