It...makes sense why you'd think that? But a lot of people in the 90's actually thought that the Super Nintendo was also an add-on for the NES, or that Super NES games worked on the NES too...y'know, kinda like people nowadays think the "Wii U" is somehow a $300 tablet that you buy for the Wii as an add-on. The name, logo, and the fact that it's backwards-compatible with all your Wii remotes is kinda confusing for moms and dads.
Parents actually got pretty annoyed once they found out they had to buy completely new hardware to play those new Super Nintendo games, lol
