The King of Fighters went through many evolutions of music. I think the soundtrack really hit its peak with '98, when there were more character themes.
I'm not a huge fan of the soundtrack of '94. Probably because a lot of it consists of weird samples of news reporters and cheering crowds. Just rubs me the wrong way for some reason...Hearing "Well, you can hear behind me now..." on repeat while playing a game :/.
