Sonic the Hedgehog Games Model Ripping

I can't remember how I figured out the Sonic Riders Zero Gravity models Ouch! I know for a fact that the models are .gno, as I've gotten rigged models into 3ds max before. That was a few years ago though, so I don't remember all the steps I took. No one happens to know anything about compression on those files, do they?
(Fun fact, the first Sonic Riders uses a weird form of .xno)
