I think it's unfair to say it's the person's fault for having an issue with it - specially when it's obviously not as minor thing as some would want to believe.

That goes against the concept of Target Audience though.  Those designs aren't catered to people who aren't into them obviously.  That's why the problem is with the person and not the game.  That particular person has no interest in such designs, which is fine, but it's not the game's fault they don't like that aesthetic.  The game did what it wanted, and to bully the devs into turning it into something they DIDN'T want is a much bigger evil that's been going on lately in the industry. Why can't people design their own characters the way THEY want to?
