You're looking for an RM script that will allow for 8-Directional movement and additional frames with idle animation.

Unfortunately, I do not believe there is anything that complicated for VXA.  I happen to have a script that allowed it for XP, but it is old and a bit out of date, so there is no support for it.  I also don't recall who originally wrote it, so if there are any issues with it, you'll need to ask for support from someone else.
