Yeah, it's probably not going to happen.
Your best bet would be reaching out to the original developers, and ideally without the suits knowing.
The programmers and artists MIGHT be willing to help, but the executives and the lawyers are pretty much guaranteed to try shutting you down.
However, while I was looking around for stuff about this game, I observed EA had a role to play... Yeah, I don't think you'll get too far, that company kinda has a reputation for being evil (and for destroying game franchises).
If you weren't dealing with a facebook game, I'd say you should try the web archive.
You probably should have asked about this a couple years ago, unless you were not aware of what was going on at the time?
The only other thing I can think of, is to talk to people on the wiki. Game wikis do tend to have rippers working behind the scenes to create all the icons for things.

There are long-gone games I, myself, wish I had ripped, or known how to rip, when they were still up.
