I assume this thread also covers old arcade games? Let's go.
My first REAL experience with an arcade arcade machine (not emulator, that'll come later), was when I was on vacation in Panama.
They had a few Neo-Geo's set up, I think it was...Capcom V. SNK 2, some machine I can't remember right off, I remember there being a Time Crisis there, and later on, 2 KOF 2002 setups.
I suck at using an actual stick (first time, after all!), but the experience will probably never be forgotten, arcade machines have a certain...charm to them. Probably those really stylish intro that attract you to them, who knows.
Onto actual emulation, my first actual time playing a fighting game that wasn't smash was in a KOF 1998 tournament on another forum.
It was...foreign, from what I was used to, but time and time again I got back to KOF 1998. it's a really good game.
One of the arcade games I play the most is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. (If you couldn't tell from my avatar, that's Rubber Soul suplexing a DIO.)
Anyways, as far as characters go in that game, DIO will always be the best. No exceptions.
I also enjoy playing the occasional 3rd Strike. Pretty cash fighting game, I should make an effort to learn all of the tech though...
This post is probably a ramble at this point so ima stop, but basically,
tl;dr I love arcade games (and machines)
