So do I
I personally feel half of why this isn't seeing any love is that Star Fox is essentially second-rate to all of the other Nintendo properties (or game franchises in general)... Or it seems that way. Pretty interesting, however that any new game for pokemon or mario, for example, immediately has some dedicated team or individual hopping right on it, regardless of what's known about the format, if anything... the SECOND the filsystems can be obtained. //rant
There have been a few rips from Assault, but ALL are based on using tools like 3D Ripper DX. Virtually every single one of these was subjected to error upon error upon error because 3d rippers all seem to have a trend of not exporting very much correctly. (Besides their support for certain programs and games can just end without any real warning whatsoever) They're also subjected to working or not working at seemingly random, depending on the user (probably their machine) I've tried using 3d rippers before, on various programs/games, and had no luck. The cloest to success I got with any was 3dvia printscreen. and sadly, that just gave me another generally non-supported yet open-source model format that no one can be bothered to make a converter for. (3dvia will do this gladly, for a price. (screw dat!) )
I can also confirm it doesn't appear to work for SF Adv, like, at all, and IDK about Assault. Not going to even try.
I tried to find information on Nanogrrr or his process for ripping the Krystal model. no luck. I did find a presumably dead FA acct, some other presumably dead social site accounts, and plenty of porn. So, no luck, there, either.
I'm honestly about ready to start fishing around on this site. I don't like playing recruiter, but that's about what it's come to. IDK what I am doing, really, and by now, I'm just about positive I've found every bit of useful information that even exists on how to rip from this game. I am pretty much certain I can't possibly crack the model format... Because I do not understand any 3d formats, and mixing that with binary ensures I don't stand a chance of cracking it. We need someone else.
