I'm surprised nobody here's talking about the NES Classic Mini that was recently unveiled by Nintendo.
Basically, it's a plug-n-play system which has 30 NES games included (scroll down here for a list). It comes with an NES-style Classic Controller which can also be bought separately for $10, but the system takes the Classic Controller or CC Pro as well (although for no discernible reason whatsoever, one controller HAS to be the NES-style controller if you're doing two player). This will sell for $60 in November.
Personally, I think this is a touch silly for how much it costs (especially for the more casual market which this seems most geared to). PnP systems have cost less for years; SEGA's PnP systems have been kicking this thing's ass through its hat for less money by offering many more games and features (such as a Genesis cartridge port in addition to having tons of built-in games, having TWO controllers with the system, etc).
At least the library for this thing is decent, the HDMI out is neat (because pretty much every other PnP only has the crappest composite video imaginable) and the controllers costing $10 a pop is really cool so I'll be picking up one or two of those.
